The Wells Family

Several months ago I was asked to take part in a fundraising ladies night for Relay for Life at a local club. Straight away I said I would love to be a part of such a great cause and to have fun and meet people all at the same time. I had a little booth at the event and met some great people on the night and two of the Wells sisters came up and introduced themselves and we had a little chat. I explained to them that if anyone booked their own shoot with me on the night that I would donate a percentage of the fee directly to the Relay for Life event. Not long after that the girls dragged their mum Tracey over and they booked me on the spot.

What can I say about this family? Trevor, Tracey and their three adorable daughters were just the nicest people you could hope to meet. The day of our shoot was one of those dreaded hot, hot days before Christmas but they did not complain once! Well I should clarify that, there was no complaining but I think they though I was a little crazy several times during our time together. Poor Trevor didn’t know how hands on he would be during the shoot. First of all helping ALL four ladies up on the railway pillar on a rickidy baby chair and watching for cars when I had the girls under tunnel near the railway line!

I have also included a copy of the storyboard that I designed for the family based on their favourite images from the shoot. This is a 20×30 inch storyboard and it looks really great if I do say so myself!

Take care, talk soon.

Day 1 of 7 Blogging (Revisited) – Cooper, Emmerson and Campbell

Where do I start? I am so happy to be able to post these photos and share them with you all as I know Cooper has been checking everyday and keeping his mum updated on where I am at (just to clarify the whole family have seen all their photos but the kids were so excited to see them on the blog too).

There is a bit of background and history to this post that I need to share to give you a bit of an understanding how glad we all were that this shoot actually did take place. Raquel has been one of my biggest fans and checks my blog all the time and has converted many of her family and friends to follow my blog too, which I am so grateful for. Believe it or not but we had to reschedule 4 times, yes you read correctly 4 times before these images were taken. Oh I nearly forgot to mention Raquel rang me the day before the shoot to say she was so glad none of the kids were sick or hurt that she had forgotten that her husband Alan was taking part in “Movember” (for you overseas readers a fundraising initiative where men grow mo’s for the month of November) and was sporting a very unattractive mo that she didn’t want in the family photos forever and a day…rather than postpone again we decided they can have family photos in the new year.

For fun I will give you a rundown on how sometimes working with kiddies and active ones like Alan and Raquel’s three kids Cooper, Emmerson and Campbell sometimes things just happen:
Postponment Reason Number 1: Several member of the family (I think from memory the boys were suspected of maybe having Swine Flu so they had to be confined to the house.
Postponment Reason Number 2: Cooper ended up on crutches (I will update this when I check with Raquel what is was for again – I think torn ligaments from football?!?!)
Postponment Reason Number 3: Campbell was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery and would be out for weeks recovering.
Postponment Reason Number 4: Emmerson received a black eye (accidently) as she walked into the room as one of her brother’s was demonstrating a karate kick to their dad!

The funniest things as well was that Raquel entered my win a free shoot competition a couple of months ago and was selected as one of winners by my grandparents so the shoot was free and we still had to postpone it one more time since she was told she was the winner.

Relay For Life – Thank You For Your Support

Wanted to pop up a quick note to thank everyone who kindly supported the Relay for Life Girls Night In on Wednesday night. It was a great night and all the kids in the fashion parade did a fantastic job and it was soo cute to watch.

I got the opportunity to showcase some of my images to some lovely new people and it was a real treat to have a night out with such awesome people. A huge congratulations to Sam Morgan who was the lucky winner of a free KMU Photography Shoot. It was a big night for Sam and the ladies in her family, her three adorable daughters were in the Mine ‘R Monkeys Fashion Parade. Sam works there so was also helping out the back dress some of the 21 kidlets that modeled.

It was getting towards the end of the night and I wanted to draw the prize but wanted to pick someone who was neutral and do it out in the open so it was all fair and above board. So I decided to select the nearest child and get her to stand on a chair. The little girl happened to be Sam’s daughter Billie, guess who’s ticket she happened to fill out. Yes, Billie had selected her own mum’s ticket as the winner! Sam had only been at my stand 15 minutes earlier saying she would love to update the photos of the girls that I had taken before there were three girls in the family.

I couldn’t post without a picture so here is an image bubba Mason, especially for his mum Hayley and dad Matt. It is Mason’s clever Grandmother that is the talented lady who knitted my cocoon’s you sometimes see babies on this blog in.
