I felt great after I succeeded in my little challenge to myself last week to post five blog posts in one day. Today is Monday and I have set myself a whole new challenge, one that will be an ongoing task that I set myself each and every day. The challenge is to post one photo a day that represents and captures what the core meaning of what photography is to me and what inspires and moves me to get better each day.
I will not set myself any limits or boundaries, it maybe an image that I have taken and not shared with you before, it maybe from my plastic polariod camera or taken from my iphone as I go about my daily life. There won’t be many words, hopefully the images will speak for themselves. I may just give a brief description of why it is special to me or that I love about it, maybe sometimes a bit of background will help the image communicate or perhaps a title. I will just see how it evolves over time.
Day 1: Daily Delight

This image was taken at a Newcastle wedding, the grooms family were making their way down the steps to have some family photos taken. Valda, the bride was waiting patiently for them to arrive into position and Doug’s father stopped on the bottom step and reached out and hugged his new daughter-in-law. It happened in the blink of an eye but I am so glad I caught it, I think the fact that his hand is slightly blurred showed how quickly this moment took place. I also love that the people behind on the stairs were oblivious to what was happening in front of them.
Feel free to let me know if you saw in this image what I did. Did it move you? Did it make you think? Is the moment lessoned by the fact that you can’t see her face? Lets make this an interactive column I’d love to hear your thoughts.
See you tomorrow with my next Daily Delight.

love this shot, beautiful capture!
I love the pure happiness look on his face. So natural! And knowing Valda I imagined her face straight away! Good job!!
I adore this photo Kristin. Such a perfect capture. So much emotion from someone who you just know has seen the world go around not once but a few times
Love the watch peeking out from his cuff, love the walking cane, love that you can just see his button hole flowers (forget the word for them!). All the little details that tell the story.
