I have set myself a whole new challenge, one that will be an ongoing task that I set myself each and every day. The challenge is to post one photo a day that represents and captures what the core meaning of what photography is to me and what inspires and moves me to get better each day.
I will not set myself any limits or boundaries, it maybe an image that I have taken and not shared with you before, it maybe from my plastic polariod camera or taken from my iphone as I go about my daily life. There won’t be many words, hopefully the images will speak for themselves. I may just give a brief description of why it is special to me or that I love about it, maybe sometimes a bit of background will help the image communicate or perhaps a title. I will just see how it evolves over time.
Day 2: Daily Delight

I was lucky enough to photograph my cousin Belinda’s wedding when she married her sweetheart David. This image is in similar vein to yesterday’s photo. I had told the boys to just walk up the track a bit and was just standing there waiting for them to walk in the direction that I had told them. As you can imagine the whole time there were jokes about what is under the kilts and the groom’s brother was pretending he had nothing under there until they discovered he was all talk. I just happened to see this moment unfold and I am so glad I caught it. There is a series of images that follow on from this one that may make it to tomorrow’s Daily Delight – again unplanned moments that caught my eye.
Thank you so much for the comments yesterday, keep them coming lets make this as interactive as possible. The things I love are the little details like how he is lurching his body forward to try and get away even though both boys have either arm in an arm lock. He was able to get one hand free to try and keep the kilt down. The other thing I love is that him and the outside guy’s ribbon on their socks are moving which shows they were walking – almost running as this all took place. What do you like or dislike about his image? Do you think this sort of a moment could be staged? Would it have the same feel to it if it was staged?
